Kaitlyn Hendry returned back to school this morning after a very busy weekend in Ireland. Having 15 fights over the course of the weekend, Kaitlyn won 11 fights and lost just 4, coming home with 2 very well earned silver medals and 2 bronze. The Irish open is the best competition in the world, having over 3700 entries, the competitors really are the best of the best. So to get as far as she did was amazing, she fought her own weight category 50kgs light and points and also fought the weight above hers 55kgs light and points so she picked up medals in every category. Kaitlyn also broke her thumb half way through a fight and still carried on to finish her fight plus go on to the next one and it was only once that was done she decided to see a medic to tell them she thought she had broken something.
In the space of three weekends Kaitlyn has fought at three competitions and came away with 3 golds at the WKA Scottish Championships, making her 3x Scottish champion. One silver and one Bronze at the WAKO British championships, and two silver two bronze at the WAKO World series Irish Open.
