Reading Skills for National 5/Higher English

As this year’s exam diet approaches, we are continuing our whole-school focus on improving reading skills and attainment.  In line with this, we are holding a Family Learning session to enable you to support your son/daughter’s preparation for the Reading for Understanding, Analysis and Evaluation section of the National 5 and Higher English exams.  This element of the exam often proves the most challenging for pupils and, with your support, we hope to ensure that they are as prepared as possible to be successful.

The session will take place in the English Department at Hazlehead Academy on Wednesday 13th March, from 6 to 7.30pm and will provide you with an understanding of the challenges young people are facing and strategies and resources to help overcome these challenges.  We anticipate the session being finished by 7pm, and have allowed time for questions or discussion afterwards.

If you would like to attend, please complete the Google Form which can be found in the English and Literacy section of the school website by Wednesday 6th March (see instructions below).  Please note that this event is for parents/carers only.
