The workshops on the night were as follows:
Room Library – SQA Progression Pathways from school to best destinations (Mr Craig – DHT)
This workshop will focus on the many academic pathways which are open to our young people in moving from school into a positive destination.
Room 202 – University of Aberdeen (Anna Johnston)
This workshop will focus on the options at the University of Aberdeen. This will include the 2+2 option as well as routes into University.
Room 203 – How to support your son/daughter in the Senior phase (Mrs Wilson – DHT)
This is an interactive workshop giving parents the opportunity to have their questions answered. Advice; insight into what’s involved for pupils in senior phase & where to go to for further help.
Room 204 – NEScol (Shelley MacKenzie and Lynne Brown)
The first part of this workshop will focus on the options of college courses within, or outwith, the curriculum. This session will cover how to apply for college options within the Hazlehead Academy curriculum and key dates for applications. The second part of this workshop will focus on Foundation Apprenticeships and will answer questions on the following: What is a Foundation Apprenticeship? How do they work? What options are there with Foundation Apprenticeships? How and when to apply?
Room 114 – Ernst & Young (Rachel Graham)
This workshop will focus on routes into employment within EY. These will include Graduate Apprenticeship programs, school leavers pathways and the learner journey. This is aimed to think outside of the box with traditional pathways.
