Scottish Book Trust Scottish Teenage Book Prize – Graphic Novel Award

Hazlehead Academy pupil Daniele Ceponaite (3MA) has won third prize in the Scottish Book Trust Scottish Teenage Book Prize Graphic Novel Award with her depiction of a scene from winning book ‘Children of Icarus’ by Caighlan Smith. Daniele drew a scene in a comic strip format which was praised for how it ‘played around with different panel sizes to convey different moods during the scene. We also thought the framing of shots was very apt, and we loved the simple and effective use of colour to help the reader differentiate between the characters.’ Daniele received a £10 book token as her prize. Well done, Daniele!
