Hazlehead pupils have recently returned from an incredible trip to Berlin and Krakow. The trip was History orientated and was focused around the Cold War and the Nazi era with particular regard to the Holocaust.
The pupils visited many historic landmarks including The Brandenburg Gate, The Reichstag, The Jewish War Memorial and Auchswitz.
The pupils also had the opportunity to listen to a talk from Miroslawa Gruszczynska, a woman who harboured a Jewish girl safely during the Holocaust and visit important museums like the Topography of Terror and the Holocaust Memorial Museum at Wannsee.
Whilst the trip was very educational the pupils were also granted free time to relax and enjoy the culture of two beautiful cities, visiting the Mall of Berlin and the Old Town Square in Krakow.
The trip was enjoyed by all, with some S6 pupils so impacted by what they learnt that they have volunteered to share their experiences with the rest of the school at an assembly.
