Last week two of our senior pupils, Jasmine Ashcroft and Regina Javorka, visited Auschwitz 1 and Auschwitz-Birkenau as part of a Holocaust Educational Trust project. This was a one day excursion flying out from Edinburgh airport along with 200 other senior pupils from across Scotland. The week before this day trip they were invited to listen to an extremely fascinating and harrowing account of events under the Nazi regime by a Hungarian holocaust survivor, Eva Clarke. She was born in a Nazi death camp and told a remarkable story. Jasmine and Regina are now ambassadors for the Holocaust Trust and will be working on a project in the coming months to share their experiences.
