Yesterday, Ruaridh Fenwick won the handicap cup at the Aberdeen Schools Strokeplay Competition. This competition is open to any Aberdeen City Academy and is an individual competition rather than a team challenge.
It was a very close finish for him as, amazingly, three boys from Hazlehead were all on net scores of 65 at the final hole. In these circumstances the organisers will do a count-back to see who played the best, over a number of holes.
Ben Newlands, Scott Mathieson, Ruaridh Fenwick and Rachel Mathieson were all competing.
Coach Mr Wemyss was quoted after the event as saying “this a great result for Ruaridh and I am extremely happy as I’ve definitely found a new member for the golf team.”
Well done to all players competing in the tournament.
