Hazlehead Success at Scottish Schools’ Combined Events Championships

Congratulations to Hazlehead Academy S3 pupil Jane Davidson who had a terrific day on Saturday – setting three PBs on her way to a bronze medal in the Group C girls pentathlon at the Scottish Schools Combined Events Championships.

She was second fastest in the 75m hurdles in 12.12. A little slower than her PB but a good time running into a -3.1m/sec head wind.

She followed that up with an excellent high jump with a new PB of 1.52m. She finished second in that event too.

The next event, shot put, is not Jane’s strongest but she managed a decent throw of 7.01m.

Next was the long jump and another second place and a PB of 4.86m.

Going into the last event, the 800m, Jane was sitting in 2nd place. She knew she had to run a PB just to stay in the medals and she was very nervous before the race. Never the less she set off determined to hang on to a medal. She ran her third PB of the day, 2:45.18.

A massive well done to Jane.
