Energy Week 2015!

Energy Week began on the 23rd of November where the whole school, as a collective, had to try to reduce the amount of energy used in the school. The Eco Team played a vital role in the participation of Energy Week, as did other pupils and teachers. Teachers and schoolchildren were often encouraged to turn off or reduce all the electrical appliances that they weren’t using, putting energy tips in the DIS. After school, photographs were taken of classrooms where some people had DISGRACEFULLY left all the lights on – EVEN when not in use. “Name and Shame” photos will be on the noticeboards soon, just without the actual naming! Finally, there was a simulation to let pupils know how much energy would be needed to power a small light bulb, by connecting one to a hand generator.
