‘Mystery Machine’ ready to race!

This Friday, 12th June, we will be competing in the Scottish Heats of the F24 Greenpower Challenge race at Grampian Transport Museum Race track.  Pupils have dedicated most lunchtimes since last October building the car and had a very successful practice run at the track last Friday – a fantastic achievement. Greenpower is an education trust and their aim is to promote sustainable engineering and technology to young people. Our other sponsors are Lockheed Martin, Balmoral Group and T.I. Alexander.   Our team commented, “We are a group of fourth years ranging in the ages of 15 to 16 years old. We are a very diverse team with people coming from all over Europe.  Our team chose the Scooby Doo theme because we felt it would be different from any other car there. During our time working on the Mystery Machine, we have developed many new skills that we would not have gained in the regular school curriculum. We learned to work effectively as a team and made use of everyone’s  individual skills  they already had before this project. Our team also had to overcome a range of different problems that we had to find creative solutions to.”  Our photo shows the team all ready to race! Go Hazlehead!
